How this works
Each trade in a given city belongs to a single business at a time. Plumbing in Sacramento is one company. Electrical in Long Beach is another. There are no listings to scroll and no rankings to game, because there is nothing here to rank. If a partner is in place for your area, they are the contractor your inquiry reaches. If one is not, you do not get handed to whoever paid the most that month.
When you submit a form or call the number on a city page, you reach that partner directly. We do not fan your details out to competing contractors and we do not sell your information. If the partner cannot take your project on, you hear back inside their normal callback window, rather than finding out three weeks later that the inquiry went nowhere.
One thing worth being blunt about. Reliable.Work is not a contractor. We do not write quotes, schedule work, order materials, or stand behind warranties. The licensed business you reach through us does all of that. They are who you are hiring, and they are the ones accountable for the work.
Check the license yourself, ours included
Ask any contractor for their license number and look it up at cslb.ca.gov. It takes about thirty seconds. You are looking for three things: that the license is active, that the classification actually covers the work being quoted, and that the bond is current. C-36 is plumbing. C-10 is electrical. C-39 is roofing. A general B license is not a substitute for the specialty classification on every job.
Do this even with a contractor we introduced you to. A referral is not a substitute for the public record, and any contractor worth hiring will expect the question.
